Online Safety & Fraud Awareness
Aircraft-Network - a division of Aircraftwest, LLC - May 7, 2022
At Aircraft-Network, we take your online safety seriously! We understand that online shopping is convenient, but it also comes with risks. That's why we offer safety and fraud awareness information to help you stay safe while using our website.
We advertise aircraft and aviation-related products and services for sale from private parties and dealers. Please keep in mind that all information in the advertisement or communications with the seller is provided by the seller themselves.
For your safety please note the following: At Aircraft-Network, we will never ask for your password, buy or sell aircraft listed on our website, participate in transactions between buyers and sellers, offer any sort of certification, buyer protection, or escrow services, or have any involvement in payments between buyer and seller.
To ensure safe online transactions, we recommend following our guidelines for sending and receiving payments.
Be cautious of individuals posing as agents or those who are outside your country. It's best to verify the existence and quality of the item in person or through a third-party inspection before making a purchase based only on photos. If you decide to use an escrow service, verify its reliability and do not use one recommended by the seller, unless of course you know and trust the escrow company. If you suspect any fraudulent activity, please report it to fraud@aircraft-network.com.
For buyers, we recommend knowing the aircraft's approximate market value, inspecting it thoroughly, and verifying the seller's physical address and phone number before sending any payment. Do not send personal or financial information via email, and do not use "money transfer services" such as Western Union to pay for online purchases. If you choose to use an escrow service, ensure that it is a legitimate service, and get a detailed receipt and title to the aircraft.
For sellers, we recommend confirming the buyer's contact information and verifying the authenticity of any certified checks. Do not transfer the title until you have received payment in full, and beware of overpayment or complicated payment schemes proposed by buyer or their agent(s).
We hope these guidelines help you feel more confident and safe while shopping on our website. Thank you for choosing Aircraft-Network for all your aviation needs!
How To Report Fraud
Anyone can become a victim of internet crime. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Internet Crime Complaint Center, or IC3, is the Nation’s central hub for reporting cyber crime. It is run by the FBI, the lead federal agency for investigating cyber crime. You can take two vital steps to protecting cyberspace and your own online security.
First, if you believe you have fallen victim to cyber crime, file a complaint or report. Your information is invaluable to helping the FBI and its partners bring cybercriminals to justice. Visit www.ic3.gov to file a complaint.
Second, get educated about the latest and most harmful cyber threats and scams. By doing so, you will be better able to protect yourself, your family, and your place of work.
Lastly, if you receive a suspicious email, let us know about it, as well as reporting it to the agencies listed below, by forwarding the email to us. We'll contact you if we need more information.
